Sexual & Pornography Addiction

Addiction is deeply imbedded in one’s emotions.

80-90% of sex addicts suffers from trauma in their childhood.

Sexual & Pornography addiction:
•   Gives you self-worth
•   Builds your self-esteem
•   Causes you to lose your identity
•   Causes you to be selfish and disrespectful towards your spouse/partner.
•   Causes people not to be able to function normal in a relationship
o   makes you to distrust your partner

•   People that are addicted to sexual sin/pornography have some form of identity crisis
o   addiction is an obsession to belong, to be affirmed knowing you are worth being loved.

•   Can take up to 6 years to recover from it

Recent studies have shown that 1 out of 3 on-line porn viewers are women

Most women enters into sexual addiction through love addiction

Sexual/pornography addiction is proven to be the one addictions that causes the most pain and destruction to their partners and the children as it is not only an emotional thing, it is also very abusive. It is much deeper and roots most of the times from childhood (either absent parents / abusive parents / parents that are not involved in you daily life / parents that favor another child more / parents that showed very little love / that disciplined without love, etc.)

This addiction makes you unable to communicate and causes you to abuse your partner, often both physically and emotionally. It results in the addicted party to have no respect for their partner. Most of the times, there is no emotional connection and is only a physical need or desire that must be fulfilled. This causes the addicted person to withdraw from people emotionally, to disconnect in order to be able to deal with the guilt and shame and their behavior is a way of coping with this problem. To deal with their hidden shame.

Text messages (sms), emails, My Space, etc causes people to communicate but there is no intimacy – that is why people move into addiction – trying to fill the void but pornography is 'empty' and that’s why people ‘search’ more and therefore becoming more and more addicted.

Sexual addiction starts by viewing pornography – this fascination then turns into addiction.
Sexual addiction brings in more guilt, shame and condemnation than pleasure.
Sexual addiction comes with more baggage than anything else.
