Saving Grace

Family

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
'Oh excuse me please' was my reply.

He said, 'Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you.'

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still..

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
'Move out of the way,' I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken..
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,

'While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.'

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
'Wake up, little one, wake up,' I said.

'Are these the flowers you picked for me?'
He smiled, 'I found 'em, out by the tree.

I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue.'

I said, 'Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way.'
He said, 'Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway.'

I said, 'Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.'

Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

He does!!

This happens when Christians stand in Unity!!

Reports on the Advertising Standards Authority ruling that a TV advertisement that featured angels falling from heaven because they are attracted to the deodorant -must be withdrawn because it is offensive.

The second story involves the Forchini Group responding to customer complaints and immediately withdrawing t-shirts from Markhams stores with slogans that portray women as sex objects.
What both incidents highlight is the power of the consumer to oppose evil and advance righteousness in society. These victories may appear small but they are significant.
Since Family Policy Institute went fully operational in July 2008, they have seen many examples of ordinary Christian citizens standing together to stop injustice & wickedness in its tracks.
Blasphemy in the media was dealt a decisive blow in Feb 2009, when thousands of Christians united to respond to UCT’s Sax Appeal magazine’s appalling attack on the Christian faith.
Unified Christian action also stopped DSTV from launching a 24 hour porn channel in SA.
In October 2010, Christians responding to Woolworth’s decision to discontinue all Christian magazines in their stores precipitated the reversal of their anti-Christian policy.

The sustained campaign against E-tv's anti-family policies appear to have paid off. "Naked News" was discontinued and so far, E-tv has refrained from broadcasting late-night porn.

In short, Christian citizens have proven that prayer and decisive action works. And it works not only for Christians, but to protect all citizens especially the most vulnerable among us.
Family Policy Institute’s vital work to defend the family and advance Christian values in Parliament, the media and general society is made possible by the faithful support of its partners.
Errol has seen God use this ministry in many significant ways during the past three years. There is much opportunity to advance Biblical values in Parliament. But Errol Naidoo from Family Policy Institute need your prayers & partnership.

Oral and Anal Sex

Check out this very insightful article from one of my favorite Christian Organization: Focus on the Family:

What is Focus on the Family's perspective on the issues of oral and anal sex?

What's appropriate and what isn't?

As a Christian organization, Focus on the Family draws its beliefs about sexuality from the Bible. Scripture makes it clear that sex is God's special gift to a husband and wife within the bonds of matrimony. It is meant exclusively for marriage.

In addition, the Bible has three important things to say about the meaning and purpose of marital sex: first, it is central to the process by which husband and wife become one flesh (Genesis 2:24); second, it is the means whereby they participate in the ongoing work of God's creation through the pleasure and delight of procreation (Genesis 1:28); third, it is intended to serve as a picture or symbol of the union between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:31, 32). Sex, then, isn't supposed to be "all about me." From first to last, it is designed to function as part of the give-and-take of an interpersonal relationship. It is a holy mystery, a powerful bonding agent that shapes and affects the relationship between a man and a woman as nothing else can.

These are the theological perspectives and biblical principles that should inform and shape any couple's expression of physical intimacy in marriage. From the Christian standpoint, marriage is a relationship of love in which a man and a woman model for each other the self-sacrificial nature of Christ's love for His church. Where there is love, there is liberty, since God has entrusted solely to husband and wife the prerogative of defining the particulars of their sexual relationship — no one else is authorized to tell them how to behave in the bedroom. But love also implies that each spouse is obligated to treat the needs, feelings, desires, and preferences of his or her mate as matters of the highest priority.

The Bible never addresses the question of oral sex in marriage, and for this reason we are of the opinion that this issue must be left to a couple's own judgment. (We realize, of course, that some Christians have strong reservations about oral sex, and we respect their point of view.) Something similar might be said with regard to anal sex, but it is crucial to add that we have special concerns about this practice. Renowned Christian sex therapists Clifford and Joyce Penner report that the majority of women who engage in anal sex with their husbands admit that they do not enjoy it and feel violated. In such cases, anal sex would appear to breach the biblical concept of mutual respect and enjoyment between partners.

There are also serious medical risks associated with anal sex, including the danger of bacterial and viral infections of the vagina, penis, rectum and anus. That's not to mention that rectal tissue is more delicate and thus more vulnerable to tearing and abrasion than vaginal tissue. With these points in mind, we would strongly caution couples against this practice….

How We Dishonor God in Our Sex Lives

We dishonor God when we fail to mirror the Trinitarian reality and beauty in our relationships.
     ~ by Glenn Stanton

We can dishonor God in our sex lives just as we can dishonor Him in any other area of our lives. We dishonor Him when we serve ourselves. We dishonor God in our sex lives when we fail to mirror the Trinitarian reality and beauty in our relationships…

We May Never Use another Person as an Object, Sexual or Otherwise

Pornography dehumanizes sexuality and depersonalizes people by turning the viewer into a taker and the one viewed into an object. The danger is that we start to see others in our lives the same way we see the object in the magazine, movie, or website: as a nobody, a thing that exists for our pleasure.

Therefore masturbation, like pornography, is incomplete because it doesn't involve the communion of two self-giving people, one to another. It's sex for one and isn't God's ideal for us; it's merely taking from one's self and doesn't mirror the nature of the Trinity….

The Monstrosity of Premarital and Extramarital Sex

The human sexual embrace, this most intimate and ultimate of all human giving and vulnerability, ought to take place in a union of total and permanent surrender of two people. That's what marriage is: both the public and personal dedication of a man and woman to forsake all others and give themselves fully—body, mind, and spirit—to another...

Help Stop The Sexualisation of Children!

Following the release of government’s National Family Policy, the South African Police Service (SAPS) recently re-launched the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Units (FCS).
The reinstatement of the specialised FCS units is encouraging news for families especially in light of the recent spate of child abductions, rapes and murders in South Africa.
There appears to be a sudden spike in child crimes around the country. Please encourage your congregations to set aside time to specifically pray into the heinous attacks on children.

I am maintaining pressure on Parliament to finalise and pass the Anti-Trafficking Bill this year. I must commend Zara Nicholson of the Cape Times whose excellent articles exposed the corruption inherent in the sex industry and focussed attention on the abuse of sex trafficking.

Check out these excellent expose's Inside the Sex Trade and Committee Mulls Trafficking Bill
Some more encouraging news, this time from the UK is that the government of David Cameron has struck a deal with Britain’s top four internet providers to protect children from pornography.
Subscribers to four of the UK's biggest internet service providers will have to "opt in" if they want to view sexually explicit websites, as part of government-sponsored curbs on online pornography.
David Cameron will unveil the measures at a meeting with the Mothers' Union, a Christian charity.
The group's chief executive, Reg Bailey, led a review in tandem with Department of Education staff into the commercialisation and sexualisation of children. The Bailey report earlier this year produced a raft of proposals to shield children from sexualised imagery.
The recommendations of the report - Letting Children be Children, published on 6 June 2011 - included providing parents with one single website to make it easier to complain about any programme, advert, product or service, putting age restrictions on music videos and ensuring retailers offer age-appropriate clothes for children.
Government and business will partner on initiatives like ending the sale of inappropriately "sexy" clothing for young children, for example underwired bras and T-shirts with suggestive slogans.
I have sent this report to Home Affairs Deputy Minister, Fatima Chohan. FPI in partnership with the Film & Publication Board is looking at ways to effectively protect children from pornography.
While shopping for clothing for our grandchildren, Arlene and I could not help notice that children’s clothing, underwear and swimwear are becoming increasingly age inappropriate.
The sexualisation of children is becoming a major problem in South Africa. Major retail stores are following this bizarre international trend and must be confronted by responsible parents.
As we approach the Christmas holiday season and in view of the alarming rise of sexual attacks against young children – I encourage Christian parents to please remain vigilant.
If you notice age inappropriate children’s clothing in a store, please politely inform the manager of the increase in sexual violence against children and request he remove the merchandise.
If a store ignores your request, please send the name of the store, its location and the description of the offending clothing to me at enaidoo@familypolicyinstitute.com  so I can pursue the matter.

Sex vs Sexual Sin

God is the creator of sex. Part of his purpose in creating sex was for our pleasure. But God also set limits for the enjoyment of sex, for our protection. When we go outside those boundaries, we enter into sexual sin. These Scriptures are provided as an aid for those who wish to study what the Bible says about sexual sin.

1 Thessalonians 4:3–7
God's will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor—not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways. Never harm or cheat a Christian brother in this matter by violating his wife, for the Lord avenges all such sins, as we have solemnly warned you before. God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives.

Galatians 5:19
When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures ...

Ephesians 4:19
Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.

Ephesians 5:3
Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God's people.

Cellphones a big porn risk to children

Johannesburg - At least 90% of children aged between eight and 16 with internet access have viewed porn online - often by mistake, says the cellphone industry's self-regulating body.

It said on Monday that 22% of teen girls and 20% of boys had sent inappropriate photographs of themselves via SMS, which were finding their way on to porn sites.

Russel Stromin, head of the Code of Conduct Committee for the Wireless Application Service Providers' Association, said children had easy access to mobile devices, such as cellphones with the internet. This meant the number of children viewing and sending inappropriate material was widespread.

"As the industry body for the mobile applications industry, we encourage our members to provide parents with tools to protect their children," said Stromin.

This could mean blocking access to adult sites on a child's cellphone, but also talking to children and warning them, Stromin said.

All cellular providers could block access to specific sites, he said, while illegal sites could be blocked for everybody.

"Parents can dial their provider's customer service number and request the site to be blocked."
Mobile phones were increasingly being used to solicit youth aged 12 to 25, and protecting young people had to become a priority.

"Globally, mobile service providers have taken the lead in this area, with the mobile alliance against child sexual abuse content being launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in 2008," Stromin said.

"Blocking your children's cellphones from accessing adult content is a good start, but it's only the beginning of what parents need to do."

Father I would like to thank You for caring... thank You so much for taking the time to be involved in my day-to-day activities, for sharing my love for my hobby, thank You for just being involved.  You of all people know how much my family means to me and how important my history is to me ~ and You showed me how much You care by showing up! WOW! What an awesome God I serve.

But you showed the way,

But you showed the way to me.

I was lied to,
But you told the truth,
cause you are the truth.
I was lied to,
But you showed the truth to me.

I was dying,
But you gave me life,
cause you are the life.
I was dying,
And you gave your life for me.

Stay in the Word

For you to grow spiritually, fall in love with Jesus all over again, stay warm committed and focused you need to read your bible on a daily basis.

From experience I know the danger of not staying in the word... you become an easy target for the enemy. Sin does not matter that much anymore, you become lukewarm, it becomes more and more difficult to stay away from all the deadly paths; the not-so-good-for-you-friends, alcohol and drugs, affairs and those ever luring pornography sites.

Guilt takes you further and further away from your Heavenly Father and when it leads you to sin, it takes you on paths you wished you had never crossed.

Why does reading the bible seem to be like another chore at times? Is it because we are lazy and rather want to be amused by what is aired on television?  Is it perhaps that our spiritual eyes have closed because of sin and we do not understand the hidden depths and truths?  Or perhaps that we do not want to learn the truth about the sacred lives we are suppose to live?  Does it perhaps convicts you of sin you prefer not to think about or that you try to hide, even from yourself?

Friend, I want to encourage you start reading your bible, again.

It is my prayer that Jesus will give you a desire to know Him more and more and more.  May He fill your heart with a desire and a hunger to start reading His word daily, that you will get up early in the morning and stay in His truth.  May He reveal His secrets in a supernatural way that whenever you open your mouth to speak, words of wisdom and insight will start pouring out of your mouth.  And that your tongue and mouth will become a powerful tool that will speak blessings upon blessings, that will call life forth, that will be salt to whomever is listening, that will bring restoration to the broken, bring light to those in the dark, that will set the evil to flee, may your mouth causes you to be victorious, and may you use it to honor, bless and worship the One who created you and loved you first.

In Jesus Name I pray
Amen

Repentance

Repentance means a sincere turning away from sin and turn to God. A person must repent to receive eternal life in heaven, but this act does not earn salvation.

 Ezekiel 18:30:
"Therefore,O house of Israel, I will judge you, each one according to his ways, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall." (NIV)

Jesus also calls for repentance:
"The time has come," Jesus said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!" (Mark 1:15, NIV)
Repentance is an essential part of salvation, requiring a turning away from the sin-ruled life to a life characterized by obedience to God. The Holy Spirit leads a person to repent, but repentance itself cannot be seen as a "good work" that adds to our salvation.

The Bible states that people are saved by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). However, there can be no faith in Christ without repentance and no repentance without faith. The two are inseparable.

Adultery

"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a women lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.  If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away.  It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell."
Matt 5:28-19 (NIV)

My Commanding Officer

I am in the army of God.
Jesus Christ is my Commanding Officer.
The Holy Bible is my code of conduct.
Prayer are my weapons of warfare.
I have been taught by the Holy Spirit, trained by experience, tried by adversity and tested by fire.

I am a volunteer in this army.
I am enlisted for eternity.
I will either retire in this army at the rapture or die in this army.
But I will not get out, sell out, be talked out, or pushed out. I am faithful, reliable, capable and dependable.

I am not a wimp.  I am in place saluting my King. Obeying His orders, praising His Name and training up His disciples. No one has to send me flowers, gifts, food, cards, candy or give me handouts. I do not need to be cuddled, cradled, cared for or catered to.  I cannot have my feelings hurt bad enough to turn me around.  I  cannot be discouraged enough to turn me aside. I cannot lose enough to cause me to quit.

I am more than a conqueror. I will always triumph. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Devils cannot defeat me. People cannot disillusion me. Weather cannot weary me. Sickness cannot stop me. Battles cannot defeat me. Money cannot buy me. And hell cannot handle me.

Even death cannot destroy me, for when my Commander calls me from this battle field, He will promote me to captain and then bring me back to rule this world with Him.

I am marching around claiming victory. I will not give up. I will not turn around. I am a christian soldier marching heaven-bound.

Here I stand, division will not make me fall.
Will you stand with me?

New Beginnings

No matter what wrong we did yesterday; the abortion we have had, the bad choices, the money we lost in gambling... no matter the wrong turn we made, the Word says, His Mercies are new every morning. Every single morning.

But we must apologize to our Father, repent of our sinful ways. And strive towards living a holy life...

God says that He is slow to anger... and rich in love.

And I believe Him.
If God says is, that settles it.

And therefore I know, when I sincerely apologize, and ask for His forgiveness, I know ~ without a shadow of doubt ~ that I am forgiven. And with that powerful knowledge in my mind and spirit I have full confidence again when I pray or just speak to my Father again.

I don't feel guilty because I believe every word He says.

Revelation

Revelation 19:11-21

Then I saw heaven opened and there was a white horse! Its rider is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
His eyes were like a fiery flame, and on His head were many crowns.
He had a name written that no one knows except Himself.

He wore a robe stained with blood, and His name is called the Word of God.
The armies that were in heaven followed Him on white horses, wearing pure white linen.

From His mouth came a sharp sword, so that with it He might strike the nations. He will shepherd them with an iron scepter. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Lured into debilitating porn addictions

The People Vs E-tv (Phase 2)
Despite assurances to their advertisers that “Naked News” contradicted the channels “high family values,” E-tv again broadcasted the appallingly sexist strip show on Saturday 2 July at 1:10am.
The channel of “high family values” also aired several pornographic SMS adverts that have proven to be harmful to children. Many reports have emerged over the past five years indicating children are downloading porn to their cell phones and sharing these hard-core images with their friends.
I am reliably informed that E-tv is considering broadcasting additional episodes of “Naked News.”
It appears E-tv is emboldened by the recent ruling of the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of SA that found nothing wrong with women stripping naked on national free-to-air television.
The Body of Christ must not relent in its defence of the dignity of women and children in SA!
As a result of the channel’s rejection of the valid concerns of thousands of Christians, I have embarked upon the 2nd phase of our campaign against E-tv’s pro-porn programming schedule.
I have written to the CEO’s of several companies currently advertising on E-tv, explaining why programs like “Naked News” and porn SMS adverts are harmful to women and children in SA.
I have requested the advertisers consider cancelling their ad campaigns on E-tv until the channel agrees to permanently remove pornographic movies, adverts & strip shows from its schedule.
I also explained that there is a growing call from Christians for a targeted boycott of all products and services advertised on E-tv. The channel will arrogantly continue broadcasting sexually explicit content on national free-to-air television as long as they enjoy the support of their advertisers.
You and I must have the courage of our convictions to stay the course and continue the fight against porn on national TV. Millions of SA families are at risk when porn is made acceptable.
Depending on the advertiser’s response, FPI may have to launch a nationwide boycott of all products and services advertised on E-TV to pressure the channel into changing its policies.
Please note, this is not only about E-tv but about the greater battle to defend the family against a growing onslaught of sexually explicit content appearing in various public media platforms.
The Body of Christ in SA must stand united in its defence of the God-given institutions of marriage and the family if we have any hope of building a strong, healthy and prosperous society.
Thousands of young men are lured into debilitating porn addictions through programs like “Naked News.” Porn addictions eventually lead to sexual dysfunction and the breakdown of marriages.
The great reformer, Martin Luther declared, "If I profess with loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved."
The battle is raging against the family. You must answer the call of God to defend this most ancient of institutions. Please stand with me as a loyal soldier to defeat the anti-family agenda in SA.

Sexually Exploitation

The negative publicity generated by the anti-porn mass boycott of E-tv is beginning to take effect. Apparently, advertisers are also concerned about the channels anti-family programming schedule.
Alarmingly, E-tv has revealed two conflicting and very deceptively different faces in their response to this issue – one to the Christian complainants and the media, and another to their advertisers.

E-tv’s standard response to the thousands of Christians who lodged complaints about “Naked News” and other pornographic content on the channel was an arrogant defence of their “right” to abuse freedom of expression to sexually exploit women & expose children to harmful content.

In sharp contrast, and in response to the cancellation of an advertising campaign on the channel, E-tv shockingly claimed to be a channel of “high family values.”  In their bizarre response to the agency, E-tv apportions blame to outside forces and claims a “pro-family” programming schedule.

Nothing can be further from the truth! E-tv has deservedly earned the reputation of a “tacky” and “sleazy” broadcaster – even from liberals. In fact, the channel has consistently been anti-family.

But it appears E-tv’s pro-pornographic programming schedule has already offended some of their advertisers and consequently threatened their much needed advertising revenue.

And there is nothing like an exodus of advertisers to challenge the channel’s anti-family policies.
Many Christians have called for a targeted boycott of products advertised on E-tv. Perhaps writing to these companies warning about advertising on E-tv will apply more pressure on the channel.

A list of products & company’s advertising on E-tv was posted on the FPI Facebook page. Please take the time to write to these company's about E-tv’s harmful and anti-family programs.

I am not convinced by E-tv’s sudden family-friendly about turn. This is obviously a desperate attempt to retain their advertisers and more significantly - exposes the channels Achilles heel.

You and I must maintain the pressure and send a clear message to E-tv and other broadcasters that the Body of Christ will not relent in its quest to clean up our airwaves to protect the family.

The good news is the negative publicity generated by the E-tv anti-porn campaign is beginning to impact the channel. I will request an undertaking from E-tv management confirming they will cancel all sexually explicit content and adopt a more family-friendly approach to broadcasting.
Until we have that, let's maintain the pressure on E-tv by warning their advertisers of the boycott.
